I’ve never been much of a nail polish kind of girl because it always never turns out right. I hate after waiting so long for it to dry that only a few hours later, I find that there’s a ding or a chip in it already! After all that hard work and waiting, I end up removing it. Unfortunately, I’ve come to accept unpolished nails. That is until gel nail polish was introduced.

Gel nail polish was invented decades ago but just started to become popular in the past few years. With all the positives that I’m going to mention below, why wouldn’t it be a huge trend? A bigger plus is that it can be done at home too!

One of the main benefits of gel nail polish is the longevity of it. It is advertised that gel nail polish can be chip and damage-free for up to two weeks. It is formulated with stronger ingredients to grasp the nails tighter than traditional polish when cured properly through UV Or LED light.

Protects and Strengthens Nails

With traditional acrylic nail polish, there is the constant polishing and removing of the polish, which may weaken already fragile and damaged nails. Gel nail polish’s curing process creates a barrier to outside elements that may cause splitting and tearing of the nails. The fact that it cannot be easily chipped or removed gives your nails the perfect protection.

Quick Drying

In my opinion, the quick-drying benefit is the best of all. With today’s busy lifestyle, no one has hours to wait for their nails to completely dry. A manicure can be entirely ruined with one tiny nick during the drying process. Gel nail polish, on the other hand, dries in several minutes! The UV or LED light dries and hardens the polish so that you can walk out the door without worrying about it getting mangled.

I’m so glad that I’ve discovered gel nail polish! Wish I’ve known about it earlier. No more unpolished nails for me!
