How To Apply Fake Eyelashes

I think it would be safe to say that every woman would love to have longer, fuller lashes naturally. With eyelash extensions, you would be able to achieve that look semi-permanently. Unfortunately, not everyone has that option because of cost, or the time it takes to get them done. I fall into that category, so fake strip eyelashes are my alternative. It doesn’t give me a 100% natural look, but it’s better than my short, sparse natural lashes. Although it may seem like another added step in my already lengthy beauty routine, using some tips and tricks doesn’t make this step all that bad. Here’s how I apply my fake eyelashes.
1. Trim Eyelash Strips - It’s not very often that the fake eyelash strips fit the length of your eyes. Lay the strip lashes over your upper lash line to measure where you should cut. A perfectly sized lash starts where your natural lash begins near the inner corner of the eyes and ends at the outside corners of the eye. Trim the lashes from the outer lash line (the longer end) for a more natural shape.

2. Apply The Glue - Brush the glue on to the strip lash. I usually add more on the ends because that’s where it would typically lift. Do not apply the strip lashes right away. The glue needs time (about 30 seconds) to become tacky. Otherwise, it will just slide around on your lash line, leaving a big mess. Bend the lashes while you wait to give it shape to fit your eye better and prevent lifting on the edges.

3. Applying The Fake Eyelashes - Holding the lash strip with a tweezer makes it easier to line the eyelash strip to your lash line because your fingers aren’t in the way. Look down as you’re applying the lash strip. It should sit on the skin as close to the lash line as possible but not on the actual eyelashes itself. Once they’re on, use the other end of the tweezer and push along the lash line to get them close to the eyelashes as possible. Then I use the tweezer side to clamp the strip lash and natural lashes together.

4. Line The Eyes - Lining the eyes help to camouflage the strip lashes. Start from the outer corner of the eye where the strip lash begins and line it all the way to the inner corner of the eye pass the strip lash. This will help blend the strip lash to your eyes.

5. Blend The Eyelashes - Applying a little mascara helps to blend in your natural lashes with the fake lashes.
Learning how to apply fake lash strips takes some practice, but you’ll become a pro in no time.
